Building with JavaScript provides an excellent developer experience, unlocks interactivity, and allows devs to build with the most modern tooling. However, shipping unnecessary JavaScript slows down websites, wastes data, and hurts the user experience. Astro provides the ideal balance and allows us to build with modern tooling using any framework we choose, but defaults to shipping zero JavaScript with an opt-in mechanism for adding dynamic features when necessary.
