Atom was GitHub&#8217;s thing, and Microsoft already had VS Code. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the heart of a code editor is an extremely strong code parsing tool and that&#8217;s exactly what <a href=\"https:\/\/tree-sitter.github.io\/tree-sitter\/\">Tree-sitter<\/a> is. Plus you can tell they are making polished design a priority. Now that <a href=\"https:\/\/zed.dev\/blog\/zed-is-now-open-source\">Zed is open source<\/a>, it bodes well. The <a href=\"https:\/\/zed.dev\/faq\">FAQ<\/a> says they plan to work on extensions after it&#8217;s open sourced.
